Freely We Receive, Freely We Give: Why Our Courses Are Tuition-Free

At the Mary Banks Global Training Center, we are committed to equipping believers with the knowledge, training, and spiritual growth necessary to fulfill God’s purpose in their lives. But one question we often receive is why we choose to offer all our courses free of charge. In a world where higher education and spiritual training often come at a steep price, our tuition-free model is indeed unique. However, our decision is rooted in something much deeper than accessibility or affordability; it is born from a biblical conviction and a commitment to sharing the gospel as we have freely received it.

The Principle of Generosity in the Gospel

Jesus teaches us in Matthew 10:8, “Freely you have received; freely give.” When He sent out His disciples, Jesus instructed them to go out and minister to others without expecting anything in return. This simple yet profound instruction encapsulates the heart of Christian generosity. The message of the gospel is a gift. Salvation, grace, love, and forgiveness are given to us without cost, and as believers, we are called to share these freely.

At MBGTC, we believe that the Word of God is not a commodity to be sold but a gift to be given. Each of us who teaches, leads, or mentors here has been deeply impacted by God’s grace, and we see it as our responsibility to pass that grace on to others without asking for financial compensation. Just as we have received the truth freely, so we freely give it to all who desire to learn.

Removing Barriers to Discipleship

We recognize that financial hardship can be a significant barrier for many individuals seeking to grow in their knowledge of God’s Word. In some parts of the world, the idea of paying for a structured theological education or ministry training is simply out of reach. This financial hurdle can create a gap between those who have resources and those who do not, limiting access to spiritual growth and ministerial training based on economic status.

By offering our courses at no cost, we aim to remove these barriers and make the path to discipleship accessible to all, regardless of financial means. Our goal is to serve people from every background, nationality, and socioeconomic level, reflecting the inclusivity of the gospel itself. As Paul writes in Galatians 3:28, “There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.” When we make our courses available to everyone, we honor this unity and demonstrate that all are welcome at the table of God’s Word.

Investing in Eternal Impact, Not Earthly Gain

One of the central motivations behind our tuition-free model is our conviction that the work of God’s Kingdom is of eternal value, far surpassing any temporary financial gains. When we teach, mentor, and equip students, we’re not simply preparing them for personal success; we’re preparing them to impact lives, families, and communities for the Kingdom of God. We believe that the rewards of this work are eternal, and we would never want financial concerns to limit the scope of our ministry or hinder a student’s calling.

Our resources come from donations, partnerships, and the support of those who believe in our mission. This model allows us to focus on our true purpose: to make disciples who are equipped to carry the message of Christ into every corner of the world. When our students succeed in their ministries, share the gospel, and live out their faith in transformative ways, we see the fruits of our labor. This eternal impact is our reward and reinforces why we remain committed to offering our training free of charge.

Leading by Example in Kingdom Culture

The world often operates on a system of exchange: we give to get something in return. But in God’s Kingdom, the currency is love, grace, and selflessness. Jesus set an example of sacrificial love when He gave His life for us, and as followers of Christ, we are called to live by this same standard. By offering our courses freely, we’re setting a practical example of what it means to live by Kingdom culture, rather than the transactional values of the world.

We hope that, by experiencing this generosity firsthand, our students will carry this spirit of giving into their own lives and ministries. The idea is that they will also learn to give freely, both in spiritual knowledge and material resources, trusting that God will provide and bless their efforts. Just as Jesus poured into His disciples, we pour into our students without expectation of return, trusting that they, too, will pour into others.

Empowering Our Students for Ministry

When a student attends MBGTC, we don’t want them to just accumulate knowledge. We want to empower them for ministry. Often, ministry work is done without the promise of financial compensation. Pastors, missionaries, and church leaders dedicate their lives to serving others, often sacrificing personal gain to do so. By making our courses free, we not only remove financial barriers but also prepare our students for the reality of a life dedicated to God’s service, where rewards are not measured by earthly wealth but by eternal significance.

Our tuition-free model reinforces the heart of ministry: it’s not about what we can gain but about what we can give. Through this, we’re able to raise up leaders who understand the true cost of discipleship and who are equipped to serve wholeheartedly, without being hindered by financial burdens or limitations.

The Fruit of a Generous Spirit

Since adopting our tuition-free model, we’ve seen incredible testimonies emerge from our students. Many have gone on to serve in ministries that they might never have considered had they been saddled with debt from their studies. Others have taken what they’ve learned and applied it within their communities, reaching people we could never have reached ourselves. By giving freely, we create a ripple effect that spreads far beyond the walls of our classrooms or the pages of our curriculum.

Our prayer is that this spirit of generosity will continue to inspire others and that the seeds we plant in our students’ lives will bear fruit for years to come. When we choose to give freely, we trust that God will provide for all our needs and will multiply our efforts in ways that only He can.

Joining Us in Our Mission

If you feel moved by our mission and would like to support the work we’re doing, we welcome your partnership. While we do not charge for our courses, we do rely on the generosity of those who believe in our vision. Donations allow us to expand our programs, develop new resources, and reach more students around the world.

Together, we can continue to make quality biblical education accessible to everyone who seeks it. By supporting MBGTC, you become part of a legacy of generosity, ensuring that countless others will be able to learn, grow, and go forth in their calling without financial hindrance.

At the Mary Banks Global Training Center, we will continue to freely share the transformative knowledge of God’s Word, just as it was freely shared with us. We invite you to join us in this journey of generosity, as we empower the next generation of believers to serve, grow, and give freely in their own walks of faith.
